DESIGN TALKS 2017 : Taku Satoh

SCGP, in collaboration with Wallpaper Magazine (Thai edition), held the 2nd Design Talks 2017. The highlight speaker is Mr. Taku Satoh, a well-known Japanese designer. His vast behind-the-scene credits included Meiji’s fresh milk packaging, Lotte’s Xylitol chewing gum packaging, Pleats Please and Bao Bao by Issey Miyake, and the designing museum 21_21 Design Sight in Tokyo. The session is relaxing and non-academic. Mr. Satoh says, “Every element in life is designed,” and it is impossible to distinguish design from any subject matter. He cites many past works with many world-leading brands as examples. In addition, the Japanese designer emphasized the importance of storytelling so that designing could be genuinely intriguing. The talk ended with a Q and A session, in which the audience requested Mr. Satoh to share viewpoints so people could adapt them to their own real-life context.
