In recent years, as people's lives have gotten better, many Vietnamese consumers have become more interested in safe and eco-friendly products. Bar soap has become popular again, but people still hesitate when buying it.

Because bar soap attracts moisture, it's harder to keep it fresh compared to liquid soap. If it's kept in a damp place, it can trap hidden germs. At high temperatures, bar soap can melt. On the other hand, although liquid soap is easier to store and use, it's not as good for the environment because it generates a lot of waste from its packaging, including plastic bottles.

Products in plastic bottles are more appealing to consumers due to their nice designs and bright colors. In contrast, bar soap is often packaged in simple boxes or basic foil wrapping, which isn't as attractive.

To solve these issues, our idea is to make the packaging of bar soap more convenient and environmentally friendly. This would not only fix the storage problems but also make it easy to carry when traveling while being kind to the environment.

Primary Box

Dimensions: 4.5cm x 4.5cm x 4.875cm.

Material: C300 Paper.

Our "Savolic" travel soap box is designed with an attached lid, making it easy to open and close (template 1).

The lid being fixed to the body of the box solves the problem of losing or dropping the lid during use or while on the move.

The box's structure allows users to clean any soap residue inside and reattach the lid for continued use.

We use Grade C paper, ensuring a straightforward manufacturing process, with an added water-resistant coating for durability.

Soap

Size: 4cm x 4cm x 4cm.

Weight: 60g.

Attachment: Paper Cord, 3mm in diameter

The attached cord to the soap serves two purposes. It allows you to hang the soap to dry after use, before placing it back in the box, and it also makes it easier to retrieve the soap.

The cord has a diameter of approximately 3mm and is entirely made of paper, ensuring quick drying and preventing mold from developing on the cord.

Secondary Box

Dimensions: 21cm x 21cm x 7cm

Material: 3-ply Duplex E-flute Corrugated Cardboard

Featuring a classic "flip top" design, inspired by the image of a vintage travel suitcase, with an elegant color scheme (template 2).

Packaging production cost

Proposal 1: C300 Paper

The average selling price of natural soap on the current market for a 60g bar is 59,700 VND.

The cost of producing the primary packaging for "Savolic" soap is 1,283 VND.

Packaging production cost as a percentage of the average selling price: 0.021% (< 2%, within the allowable range of packaging costs).

Proposal 2: 378gsm Plastic-Coated Paper

The plastic-coated paper material ensures water resistance and durability when opening the box multiple times, enhancing the product's aesthetics.

Limitation:

Offset printing is not applicable.

The production cost is higher than that of C300 paper.

=> Packaging production cost as a percentage of the average selling price: 0.17% (< 2%, but higher compared to the conventional paper option).

The candle packaging is designed for the youth. With a minimalist design that minimizes the use of excessive paper materials, the packaging serves two functions: preserving and transporting the product. Additionally, based on user behavior and habits, the packaging incorporates multiple features to reduce limitations and inconveniences in users' product usage habits, such as adding a built-in lighter, a wick clip, etc. The overall design aims to convey a sense of relaxation and tranquility while still reflecting the dynamism and freshness of young people through the structure and overall interface of the packaging

"LI A HO" - The fusion of tradition and modernity

The packaging for our dried, ready-to-eat food products draws inspiration from the artistic elements of "Dong Ho" paintings and the art of "Monstrous Beauties."

Type of packaging: 2-compartment shoe box packaging. Packaging name: Apparate Shoe Box. Material: Kraft paper. Box shape: Trapezoidal. Parts of the box: Outer shell of the packaging, 2 platic glass panels on both sides of the product. Design colors: Navy blue (#0b3e58), emerald green, and light yellow. Design pattern: Uses vector images of famous landmarks around the world. Function: Designed to store and preserve shoes. The box design includes a handle for convenient carrying. The box can be reused as a shoe rack or as a small trash bin in the work area.

As the country develops and life improves, people's needs also increase. To tap into consumer psychology, product packaging needs to be designed to suit the times, enhance utility, and help users have the best experience when using the product. However, some traditional Vietnamese product packaging has not yet been improved to suit modern trends, causing some traditional products to be overshadowed and few people use them. Therefore, we decided to choose the green bean cake product - a specialty of Hai Duong, Vietnam to redesign the packaging, to enhance traditional values and promote Vietnamese culture internationally.

FRESH FROM THE FLOWER

Redesigning the packaging of the TracyBee honey brand in the FMCG industry, 50-ml type, and improving level 1 and level 2 packaging so that the quality matches the price but must be more convenient to use the product compared to the original packaging and old envelope.
