We've noticed that once the headphones are taken out of the box, the packaging becomes useless. It will eventually be thrown away and reduced to nothing more than rubbish. Every year, the mass production of headphones by the electronics industry results in more packaging being thrown away. This has a negative impact on the environment by wasting resources and producing more rubbish.

Our design turns the packaging into something functional. The lid of the box can be detached and folded into a headphones stand. This is an item that can be used together with the headphones. Upcycling the packaging into a headphones stand is a smart way to incorporate two separate technology-related products into one purchase. STANDGUIN gives users the convenience of keeping their headphones on display and simple to access when needed. As for the remaining box, it is still intact and can be used for any kind of storage. Being easily turned into a simple yet practical accessory, STANDGUIN is packaging that won’t be thrown away.

Designing the packaging this way includes both the manufacturer and the consumer in an effort to save the earth. The buyer gets to upcycle this paper box with their own hands. 

The penguin serves as the inspiration for the color and shape of the STANDGUIN headphones stand. This is due to the fact that climate change has made penguins an endangered species. We want users to have STANDGUIN as a reminder that they are doing an important part for the environment.  By using this packaging, they are making the world better for everyone, including penguins.
