Due to the fact that waste from consumer product packaging is one of the primary factors causing damage to ecosystems and the environment, cake packaging also contributes to this issue. Whether we buy cakes for ourselves or as gifts for others, a cake can become a gift that sparks new life goals. That's why we’ve chosen cake as a medium to communicate, celebrate, and inspire.
Every year on birthdays, we celebrate with cake, but every year the world continues to face deteriorating conditions.
Thus, we decided to use cake packaging as a medium for social and environmental development.
Our concept is to inspire people to become more mindful of the planet for greater sustainability and a more livable society.
This idea led to the creation of cake boxes that can be used to plant flowers, with the principles of reduce, by having no waste from the packaging; reuse, by using the cake box as a flower pot after enjoying the cake; and recycle, with a biodegradable fork embedded with flower seeds. After finishing the cake, you can leave the fork in the box, add soil and water, and over 90 days, the fork will decompose and nourish the plant. You can then share your blooming flowers and tag our brand at @seedcake.
Our target users are Gen Z, who are active on social media, enjoy sharing, and are becoming more aware of social and environmental issues.
Our target insight focuses on individuals who care about the environment and are conscious of the issue of overflowing waste and the use of biodegradable packaging. They enjoy experimenting with new things—whether it's flavors, product design, or unique experiences—and want to feel like they are part of making a positive change, even if it's a small one.
Our brand’s marketing activities will also emphasize sustainability. We will support and collaborate with organizations that share the same vision by using packaging with a scannable QR code to participate in and exchange knowledge within various eco-communities. Additionally, we aim to create viral trends and buzz with our unique offerings, especially among our target audience, who are active on social media and enjoy showing off eco-friendly actions. Users can share the flowers they’ve grown and use the hashtag #myseedcake on various platforms.
The brand will track engagement through these customer behaviors and monitor results via metrics such as page visits and ad clicks, which will help improve our strategies for the future.
