I.           Promote sales

1.    Overview

 Agriculture is the most important economic sector of Vietnam. To promote the consumption of agricultural products in general and Vietnamese fruits in particular, there need to be breakthrough changes, starting with new, modern products suitable for current trends, and preferences and easy-to-reach users with its packaging. Contribute to helping Vietnam's economy develop.

 Although Vietnam has a strongly developed agricultural industry, we also face several difficulties and challenges such as being heavily dependent on exports to foreign countries, Vietnamese fruits have not been fully utilized to enter consumer products in Vietnam. Besides, Vietnam’s agriculture is also dependent on traders to force prices, so farmers always have to face an oversupply of inventory, so there have been many cases where Vietnamese fruit rescue signs have been posted.

Vietnamese fruits have good quality and are highly appreciated, but they have not been fully utilized and exploited to solve the supply and demand problem.

2.    Case study

 Dragon fruit already brings in real "billion dollar" revenue, accounting for the highest proportion in the fruit and vegetable industry. However, in 2020 and 2021, when the Covid epidemic raged. There was a time when dragon fruit encountered difficulties in exporting and trading. This leads to many dragon fruits being left in stock and prices falling, causing farmers to face many difficulties.

 Faced with that situation, Mr. Kao Sieu Luc successfully researched and processed the product "dragon fruit bread", with the proportion of dragon fruit accounting for 60 - 70%. Although only in the testing phase, all four types of dessert, including dragon fruit bread, ‘volcanic dragon fruit’, dragon fruit sweet bread with taro filling, and dragon fruit cream cake, are highly appreciated by consumers, because they ensure maintain aesthetic, flavor and taste factors; as well as a suitable selling price, from 6 - 18 thousand VND/bread, depending on the type.

3.    Solution

With the desire for the country's economy to be more developed, opening up opportunities for Vietnamese farmers in particular and Vietnam’s agricultural market in general. By enhancing product value through packaging and product appearance. Currently, traditional packaging from Vietnam’s products has not yet been invested in in terms of appearance. Meanwhile, people often tend to prefer foreign products because of their appearance. Understanding the needs and trends of consumers, I hope I can contribute to improving the packaging of products from Vietnam in general and Vietnamese fruit ice cream products in particular.

By using a packaging design with fruit images and the original, pure colors of Vietnamese fruits. The design brings an organic, natural, chemical-free feel. Moreover, the layout uses Bauhaus style and flat design to be more accessible to young people. At the same time, create sympathy for people with the quote "Vietnamese people use Vietnamese goods". The youthful layout with a European feel is easy to approach but still not too strange, creating closeness to young domestic customers through the typical shapes and colors of Vietnamese fruits and foreign customers.

II.               Better packaging for customers

According to user experience and surveys, eating ice cream has some limitations as follows:

1. Melts quickly: Ice cream tends to melt quickly and melt under room temperature conditions. When eating ice cream in hot weather, you may encounter inconvenience when the ice cream melts quickly and is difficult to control.

2. Sticky to your hands: Ice cream can stick to your hands when you eat, making your hands greasy and difficult to clean. This can make you feel uncomfortable and you need to wash your hands after eating.

To solve the problem of melting ice cream, the bottom of the ice cream has been designed to release after tearing the packaging to better handle the ice cream flowing into the hands.

The handle has a cover on the stick to make it easier to determine the taste of the ice cream when kept in the refrigerator and also increases the area of ​​the stick so users can more comfortably hold the ice cream.

III.             Better packaging for the world

Recycle the packaging into decorations (typical decorations of Vietnamese fruits): The packaging is designed with an additional string on the top as well as the back of the ice cream, which is completely wordless so that users can use it for decorations, toys or collectibles. At the same time, having an additional string can help consumers hold and move the ice cream easily. Besides, I want to increase the value of promoting our country's fruits to other countries through recycled decorative items shaped like Vietnamese fruits.

Prioritize the choice of parchment paper for packaging because of the material's heat resistance, moisture resistance, thinness, and environmental friendliness. The design tried to limit unimportant details on the packaging to limit the amount of paper as possible.
