INTRODUCTION

As the country develops and life improves, people's needs also increase. To tap into consumer psychology, product packaging needs to be designed to suit the times, enhance utility, and help users have the best experience when using the product.

However, some traditional Vietnamese product packaging has not yet been improved to suit modern trends, causing some traditional products to be overshadowed and few people use them.

Therefore, we decided to choose the green bean cake product - a specialty of Hai Duong, Vietnam to redesign the packaging, to enhance traditional values and promote Vietnamese culture internationally.

Nowadays people tend to love and use foreign products because of their unique and beautiful packaging designs. They believe that the packaging of Vietnamese products is often outdated, unattractive, and unsuitable for the times. Especially for traditional product packaging today, it still uses very "cheesy" color tones, "colorful" and difficult to read handwritten fonts.

Modern design trends often focus on minimalism and luxury. Therefore, today's designers often tend to use quiet colors, combined with sans-serif fonts to show the minimalism of the packaging but still have all levels of information, attracting the eye of the consumer. consumers.

Due to the current situation, we decided to research and redesign the green bean cake packaging to promote consumers to more traditional Vietnamese products.

Using the heritage of traditional ancient motifs, we reference and stylize the Vietnamese Dragon to suit the times and be close to consumers. We emphasize the characteristics of Vietnamese Dragons such as: square head, short snout, curvy body, flexible layout, unlike Chinese Dragons which often have long snouts, solid bodies, brave and fierce. With the Art Deco style, we keep the traditional Dragon image but with a minimalist image, in line with modern trends.

Combining traditional images with traditional products, we hope that through this innovative packaging, the value of Vietnamese products will increase, making domestic consumers trust traditional products and consider them product as a solemn and meaningful gift to give to friends at home and abroad. Thanks to that, people can promote Vietnamese traditions and culture, and develop the country's economy.

Consumers often eat green bean cakes directly with their hands. However, hands are easily dirty parts of the body. For consumers who do not have the habit of washing their hands before eating like children, it will easily lead to infectious diseases. Furthermore, the surface of the green bean cake has a layer of oil, so using your hands to pick up the cake directly will make your hands sticky with oil, which is very uncomfortable.

Some food brands have integrated eating utensils into packaging such as spoons, chopsticks, etc., making it more convenient for consumers to use. We also refer to that to improve the packaging of green bean cakes.

Because of people's eating habits, we have consulted and arranged additional bamboo toothpicks so that consumers can use them to pick up cakes without having to take the cake directly by hand.
