Water puppetry is a Vietnamese tradition that dates back as far as the 11th century, when it originated in the villages of the Red River Delta, in the north of the country. Vietnamese water puppetry is a variation on the ancient Asian puppet tradition. "The Four Spirits Convergence" is a water puppet dance representing four benevolent animals in the beliefs of Vietnamese: Dragon, Quilin, Turtle and Phoenix. This water puppet show is a dance group, the convergence of four animals symbolizing strength, authority, nobility, longevity and prosperity that ancient people worshiped and aimed for.
This isn't just a gift for children but also for adults who were once children, evoking memories of a unique traditional Vietnamese folk art—water puppetry.
The box can be easily opened, revealing a water puppet stage with candies resembling water puppets being performed by the artists on stage.
The "Four Sacred Creatures" characters can be detached from the box after use and stood upright for display on the stage.
